• A Family of Churches

Anthem Ventura is part a family of churches helping people find their way back to God. The Anthem family of churches is united around shared mission, vision, values, and submission to the Lordship of King Jesus. In our cities, we are working to obey Jesus in helping people find their way back to God.

Alpha Postponed

As many of you already know, the on-going global health situation, COVID-19 (Coronavirus), has continued to develop. The Ventura public health dept. called for a state of emergency, and all VUSD schools will be closed until at least April 10.

While the virus is really not dangerous to the vast majority of our church, it is very dangerous to some and we want to care for the vulnerable, do our part to help “flatten the curve”, and honor the local and state authorities who have asked that all non-essential large group gatherings be reconsidered, postponed, or canceled.

Alpha will be postponed until at least after Easter and/or when we get more clarity about the current conditions.

Anthem Ventura is hosting Alpha, a series of dinner conversations that explore life, spirituality and faith in a fun, non-judgmental and open environment.

It’s perfect for skeptics, curious, anyone with major doubts or hurts or those who just want to talk about the real issues of life with new friends. If you want to know more we'd love to have you join us at the Alpha Launch Party - a one-off fun evening to decide if Alpha is for you.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore life, meaning, and faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. Whether you’re just checking it out, new to faith, or coming back to church you are invited. Everyone is welcome.

Who is Alpha For?

Alpha is for anyone who's curious about faith or has major doubts and big questions. It's safe to ask any question and the evenings focus on listening, exoploring together and being real and authentic.

How does Alpha Work?

Each session on Alpha includes food, a short film, and a small group discussion where you can share your thoughts. At any point, if you think Alpha isn’t right for you, that’s not a problem. There's no pressure, no follow up and no charge.

  • First, There's food

Alpha evenings always start with dinner. It gives us a chance to get to know each other and build new friendships.

  • Then, We'll Watch a film

Each Alpha evening has a 25 minute film that explores the big questions of life and faith and unpacks the basics of Jesus.

Every Alpha evening focuses on conversation and discussion in groups where you can share your thoughts about faith and life and hear from others in your group. You can feel free to say whatever you like or as little as you like, it's up to you.
