• A Family of Churches

Anthem Ventura is part a family of churches helping people find their way back to God. The Anthem family of churches is united around shared mission, vision, values, and submission to the Lordship of King Jesus. In our cities, we are working to obey Jesus in helping people find their way back to God.

Our Posture

  • Wisdom

Wise and thorough planning, with special care for the most vulnerable populations in our community, and active learning from health and governing authorities, gaining insight and discernment wherever it may be found (Prov 1v5, 19v20).

  • Patience

Patience with a timeline that might be too slow for some. Patience with a process that will doubtless be clunky. Patience with leaders feeling the pressure of this complex situation. Patience with the fact that much will be different about church, even when we can gather in person again. And above all, patience with one another as we humbly, gently bear with one another in love (Col 3v13).

  • Unity

We agree with the writers of the NT who teach that we are one body with many members, who at times lay aside their own preferences to “keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Eph 4v1-6).

  • Courage

Courage in a season of great fear. Our courage will not be cavalier, but we want to remember, even amidst the new precautions around gathering, that God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of love, of power and of a sound mind (1 Tim 1v7).

Bottom Line:

Our methods have changed, but our mission hasn't.

Anthem Church exists to enjoy and make much of Jesus, helping people become more like him, as we live out the mission of God together.

If the last few months have shown us anything, its that the church of Jesus cannot be stopped. Even as our regular rhythms have been disrupted, we are still the church. No matter what comes our way, we will always be the people of God. Worship, mission, faithfully proclaiming and demonstrating the Gospel will and must continue, and the gates of hell will prevail against the church (Matt 16v18).

We are committed to cultivating resilient disciples who are faithful in the face of cultural coercion and who live a vibrant life in the Spirit.
